Congratulations ladies! We’ve been a USA Rugby CIPP’d club now for 20 years! The Valkyries originated in 1974 but have been an official member of USA Rugby since 1991.
The current Valkyries would like to extend an invitation to everyone in the Valkyries Family to join us in celebration of our 20 years! Let’s get everyone together for a full day of rugby events. When you ask? April 16, 2011, a Saturday of course!
The day will start off as the Austin Valkyries take on Black Ice from Denver at Burr Field at 11am. Wear your Valks alumni gear, pick up some beer, and get ready to cheer! After the game we’ll meet up at Mister Tramps for our first annual Valkyries Alumni Dinner. After some good food and a few words, we will be auctioning off several highly-sought-after Valkyries items…and possibly a player or two!
Speaking of memories…we will be collecting pictures of past Valkyrie Action Shots, Socials, Team Photos, Embarrassing Moments, etc. We have a few on the Alumni page already, but if you have any saved away on your computer, please email them to recruiting@austinvalkyries.com by March 28th.
What have the Valkyries been up to?
- We have a new coach from Australia, Lachlan Ferguson
- We hope to make our third consecutive trip to nationals and reach the Final Four this fall.
- We have been recruiting Nationally!
- We support local Collegiate teams so their programs feed ours! (UT, Texas A&M & TX State)
- We are giving back to Austin Rugby by coaching Collegiate and Youth Teams. Several players have been certified as referees as well.
- Each player participates in community service (Marathon Kids, Tackling Cancer, etc.) every season!
- We have 35 players rostered, three of which are in high school!

7:00pm – Alumni Dinner (Mister Tramps)
8:00pm – Auction and Recognitions (Mister Tramps)
Alumni Dinner Tickets:
Tickets for the Alumni Dinner can be purchased here. Tickets are $25 pre-paid and $30 at the door. Tickets include dinner (your choice of House Salad or Cup of Soup and your choice between Smoked Turkey Sandwich, Margarita Pizza (Vegetarian Option), or a Cheese Burger.) and one Lone Star Beer.
